Privacy Policy
How Schedlar collects, uses, and protects information. Effective March 28, 2026.
This Privacy Policy describes how Schedlar ("Schedlar," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit our websites, use our applications, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. This policy is not legal advice; have counsel review it for your situation.
1. Information we collect
- Account and profile data: such as name, email address, credentials, household or workspace identifiers, and preferences you provide when you register or update your account.
- Content you submit: calendar entries, lists, messages, files, and other materials you choose to store or share through the Services.
- Usage and device data: log data, approximate location derived from IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, and diagnostic or performance information.
- Cookies and similar technologies: as described in our Cookie Policy.
- Payment information: if you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor may collect billing details; we generally receive limited payment metadata, not full card numbers.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services
- Authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent fraud or abuse
- Communicate with you about the Services, support, and important notices
- Analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form to improve product experience
- Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect rights and safety
3. Legal bases (where applicable)
If applicable law requires a "legal basis" for processing (for example in the EEA or UK), we rely on: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests (such as security, analytics, and product improvement) where not overridden by your rights; consent where required; and legal obligation where applicable.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly defined. We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us (e.g. hosting, authentication, email, analytics, payment processing), subject to contractual protections
- Other users when you invite them to a household, workspace, or shared resource, or when you choose to share content
- Authorities when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, with notice as required by law
5. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and context; you may request deletion as described below, subject to exceptions we are required or permitted to keep.
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International transfers
We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us as below. We may need to verify your request. California residents may have additional rights under applicable state law (including rights to know, delete, and opt out of certain "sales" or "sharing" as defined by law).
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Third-party services
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party practices.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (such as email or in-product notice). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, to the extent permitted by law.
